Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapists
Early Years Team
Post 1: Permanent Full time 37.5 hours per week
Post 2: Permanent Part-time 22.5 hours per week
We are seeking to recruit two experienced and enthusiastic speech and language therapists who are interested in developing specialist skills working with children in their early years.
On our clinic pathway you will work with speech and language therapy colleagues including assistants within an efficient and effective episode of care model to advise, assess and treat a range of speech, language and communication difficulties primarily in children aged under 5. Interventions are focussed on skilling up parents and nursery staff to understand individual children’s needs and to support speech, language and communication development throughout the day.
The post will also develop your clinical leadership skills, as you will become the clinic link for at least one health centre, holding an overview of the caseload. In addition there are excellent personal development opportunities within the team and support to access a wide range of training.
Our Children’s Community Directorate was rated as “Outstanding by CQC” in August 2017. We are keen to maintain this and strive to provide creative, high quality services.
The successful candidates will have experience of working with young children and their families/carers in clinic settings, be innovative, adaptable and able to work as part of a team.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
