We are holding an Assessment Day on the 07/02/2019 from 08:45am to 2:00pm and we would love to see you there! The assessment day will be held at University Hospital Lewisham.

This is the ideal time to join the acute medicine team on Laurel, Mulberry, Alder and Cherry wards at University Hospital Lewisham.

Laurel Ward

Laurel ward is an acute medicine, haematology and oncology where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in chemotherapy, cancer treatment innovations, assessment skills, end of life care and general nursing. Being part of our team means you will have close links to other services such as haematology CNS, palliative care, chemotherapy day unit and sickle cell CNS.

Mulberry Ward

Mulberry ward is an award winning patient safety team specialising in acute medicine and respiratory ward where you will have the chance to enhance and develop new skills in relation to respiratory conditions including cystic fibrosis, COPD and long term conditions including pressure ulcers, falls and complex discharge planning.

Alder Ward

Alder ward is 28 bedded unit specialising in endocrinology and diabetes where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the management and care of patients with diabetes.

Cherry Ward

Cherry ward is an acute medicine and cardiology ward which has introduced monitored ward based beds for acute cardiac and medical complex medical patients. You will have the chance to enhance and develop new skills in relation to cardiology including working within the coronary care unit.

You will be part of an upbeat dynamic team bringing energy and a strong focus on multidisciplinary teamwork in supporting our patients

You will receive an annual Individual Performance Review by your line manager to help facilitate your development. We support staff with post registration courses relevant to their field of practice at Greenwich and Kings College Universities.

In addition, to further support you in your role, the Trust can also offer accredited leadership and management training: Level 5 - Extended Diploma in Management and Leadership. This apprenticeship is fully funded and specifically designed to meet the needs of middle managers wishing to acquire a range of management knowledge and skills and thus develop their career.

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or newly qualified
  • Ability to work flexibly across all shift patterns
  • Have a passion for delivering high quality patient care
