Locum Consultant in Medical Microbiology

Applications are invited for a whole-time locum consultant post in Medical Microbiology mainly based at University Hospital Lewisham, in South-East London. This post is to cover vacant substantive post which will be advertised soon. The locum post is available from 1 February 2019 for 5 months period.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is a new Trust formed on 1st October 2013, following the merger of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Greenwich. We are a committed multi-professional team who provide much-valued hospital and community services as one organisation.

We offer medical, surgical and emergency services to local residents, and also provide a range of specialist services for South East London and beyond. Our community health professionals work closely with the hospital and GPs to provide support to adults and children in their own homes and across a range of health centres and clinics.

LGT takes great pride in its place at the heart of the community. We are an organisation with a firm focus on the future. We will continue to run services in Lewisham and on the Queen Elizabeth site and we are committed to ensuring staff are supported in their roles.

The successful applicants will join a team of 5 consultants and a Microbiology SpR, to provide clinical microbiology and infection control services for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

Applicants should be in possession of the FRCPath Medical Microbiolgy (or equivalent) and must be fully registered with the GMC and be on the GMC Specialist Register (Microbiology) or within six months of obtaining their CCT at the time of interview.
