Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust are a committed multi- professional team who provide much-valued hospital and community services to residents in South East London. The Trust has built a good reputation as a place to enjoy job satisfaction and develop professional skills and experiences. Our people value the opportunity to work in a supportive culture and, we ensure our team are well rewarded for their contribution. By joining us now, you can play a role in shaping  our organisation that continues to put patient and client care first. Whatever the challenges ahead, we’re prepared to face them as one team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Respiratory Nurse to join our integrated nursing team at the University hospital Lewisham site.  This is a role that requires experience in caring for patients with COPD and asthma within the hospital, outpatient clinic and community setting.

This is a great opportunity for nurses to work with patients in their own homes as well as in the acute setting where they will see patients during their in-patient stay and in the out-patient clinic.

The applicant will have experience of working in a respiratory setting and will be an independent prescriber or be prepared to undertake this course. .

The individual will work closely with the Emergency Department enabling patients to be discharged promptly.

This is an innovative and evolving team, the applicant will be expected to fit into this team were there is a vision for community clinics and an oxygen nurse.

The role also includes teaching junior colleagues across the hospital and community as well as supporting our pulmonary rehabilitation team and breathe easy group.
