The AMU is a unit designed to streamline admission process for patient. The Ward Managers lead a team of staff equipped with acute medical skills and a Matron and Senior Matron supports the unit. We care for patient with a variety of acute medical conditions and occasionally surgical conditions on our busy 78-acute beds. The turnover is fast with a maximum patient stay of 72 hours.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic nurses who want to join our dynamic and diverse team in the Acute Medical Unit.

We are holding an Assessment Day on 18th of May 2018, from 08:45am to 2:00pm and we would love to see you there! The assessment day will be held at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

In a recent Friends and Family Test survey 94.62% stated they will recommend us to their family and friends. We developed the AMU Living our Values Charter to improve patient’s care and service delivery. We have also complied with the CQUIN programme (Dementia/VTE/AKI/Sepsis) and the NICE guidelines.

We offer continual learning supported by our Practise Development Nurse (PDN) who will assist in the provision of training.

You will have your own allocated mentor to support your transition to the ward.

You will have a 2 weeks Trust inductions

You will be enrolled on the Preceptorship programme as part of the Trust drive for your personal and professional development.

You will be appraised annually by your Manager to achieve your learning objectives.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
