LEWISHAM AND GREENWICH NHS TRUST – UHL SITE

FULL TIME LOCUM IN DIABETES, ENDOCRINOLOGY AND GIM.

We are seeking to appoint a full time Endocrinologist to a locum position in the first instance (1 year) pending a substantive post. The post will commence as soon as possible.

This is 10 PA post with 8 DCC and 2 SPAs to cover maternity leave. It includes a requirement to join the out of hours medicine on-call rota on a 1:10 basis (likely to become 1:12 shortly). There is a separate rota for elderly care/frailty medicine, and on call commitments during the week are just from 5-8pm with 1:20 on call from home overnight.

There will be a requirement to cover a 28 bed acute ward on a one month in three basis (staffed by 2 endocrine registrars, 3 CT1/2 and 2 FY1 with a full time Physicians Associate)

There are several opportunities for out-patient work including multi-disciplinary foot, renal and paediatric diabetes clinics, reproductive medicine and paediatric endocrine clinics alongside general endocrine and diabetes. We would envisage 3 clinics a week. Whilst an interest in bariatrics/obesity medicine would be most welcome we would support any subspecialty interest.

As a University Hospital, we have a strong teaching history, the successful applicant would have the opportunity to contribute to the education of undergraduates and postgraduate trainees.

Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine
