18.75 hours per week, flexible hours, permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic dietitian to join us as a Band 6 paediatric dietitian with speciality work in diabetes. The paediatric diabetes service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital serves families living in Greenwich and Bexley.  You will work closely with our Band 7 1.0 WTE paediatric diabetes specialist to cover a caseload of nearly 250 children, and join a friendly department comprised of 30 dietitians across the two sites of Lewisham and Greenwich.  Your clinical base will be at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich.

We are extending our service to include more group carbohydrate counting sessions, as well as home and school visits. Previous diabetes and paediatric experience is desirable but we will consider applications from experienced Band 5s looking for a new challenge at Band 6 level, and will offer appropriate training. You will play a crucial part in providing a safe, high quality service and be part of the paediatric diabetes multi-disciplinary team meeting the Best Practice Tariff. Drivers’ licence is desirable, but not essential as there is public transport in the boroughs.

You will be actively involved in training students from King’s College London on the 1,2,3 Placement programme. All dietetic staff are encouraged to participate in audits, service evaluations, and continuous professional development by attendance at study days, and by taking a lead in service improvements and specialist resource development.
