An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8B Service Manager in the Long Term Conditions and Cancer Directorate. Working to the General Manager, the post holder will play a critical role in the operational delivery and transformation of clinical services, ensuring the delivery of key constitutional standards, whilst pushing the boundaries of the type of services we deliver to our local communities.

Alongside day to day interactions with patients, relatives, clinical and administrative staff, the post holder will play a critical role in working with local and national commissioners as we redesign our services. This will involve supporting the General Manager in the development of business cases and strategic plans, and taking the lead where necessary.

The role operates within a hugely complex and challenging environment and we are seeking a candidate who is dynamic, focussed, and dedicated to delivering high quality services to the patients we serve. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with drive and ambition to ensure we can deliver health services in a high quality and sustainable way.

The post holder will directly line manage Assistant Service Managers, and hold supervisory responsibility for a number of Administrative roles including Medical Secretaries, Typists, and Outpatient Administrators. The post holder will be required to Deputise where appropriate for the General Manager.
