Lewisham and Greenwich Trust provides hospital and community services for more than 526,000 people across south east London. We put patients at the heart of everything we do, which is reflected in the positive feedback we receive. We are a friendly and dynamic place to work, with high levels of job satisfaction and excellent transport links serving our two hospitals – University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Greenwich.

We are seeking dedicated, motivated people to help us provide high quality care to our local communities. In return for your hard work, we offer well-established, structured mentoring and staff development packages to support you in your role.

Are you a registered overseas trained Nurse looking for OSCE support to complete your NMC registration?

We are pleased to be recruiting overseas trained nurses who have achieved their IELTS or OET and who have successfully completed the NMC competency based test (CBT) to join us as a Pre-Registration Nurse.

If successful at interview, you will be offered a contract as a Pre-Registration Nurse progressing to a permanent contract as a Qualified Nurse once registered with the NMC.

You will be placed on a ward, in line with your clinical experience at either our Queen Elizabeth Hospital site in Woolwich or University Hospital Lewisham.

As a Pre-Registration Nurse you will be fully supported by a mentor in practice who will support your learning and development. We can also provide Tier 2 sponsorship for eligible candidates.

The ideal candidates would be able to work well in a team environment, be kind, compassionate and empathetic to patient needs providing excellent care on a daily basis.

You must hold a nursing qualification, have an active registration overseas and have a least one years’ experience in the country where the qualification was obtained.

You will have passed your IELTs to level 7 in all four disciplines, passed the OET to a Grade B in all four disciplines in the last 24 months or are English test exempt. You must have also successfully completed the NMC competency based test (CBT) and have either received a decision letter from the NMC or submitted the required documentation to the NMC.  We will request evidence of your examination results or NMC decision letter prior to interview.

You must be committed to undertaking additional study and to passing your OCSE. We would also expect you to stay with Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust for at least 3 years after you become NMC registered to build on your skills. Should you decide the leave the Trust during your training or before 12 months we will seek to reclaim the cost of your training.

Please be aware that we will only accept applications from candidates that clearly state that they have passed the IELTS or OET and CBT in the last two years. Failure to declare this on your application form will result in your application being rejected.
